We worked with Cher with our puppy Boone and found it to be a great start for him! We’re now several months out and still use the lessons we learned from then. Would definitely recommend!”  – Matthew M.

“Emily was our trainer and she was so sweet and it was so much fun. My dog learned 3 new things and was very tired on our ride home. Will definitely be going back! Love the classes, it’s nice with such a busy schedule to pick and choose dates and times that work!” – Amelia N.

FAQS: GVL Group Classes

What should I expect?

Your class instructor will give instruction, demonstrate, and then there will be practice. We will layer training with enrichment and breaks to optimize learning.

Class will start and end on time. Many times there will be another class immediately following yours that your trainer needs to prepare for. Please be respectful of this and plan accordingly.

Will my dog play with other dogs during class?

No, dogs should NOT interact with their classmates, unless the trainer instructs them to do so. Please keep your dog on a short leash and away from their classmates unless otherwise specified. Your instructor may separate class mates with a barrier or in another space to limit distractions if necessary.

What should I bring?

Be sure to bring your dog’s regular leash, collar, and/or harness, and a good supply of high-value treats! High value treats mean ones that your dog finds delicious and irresistible and will be motivated to work for. We usually recommend things like hot dogs, cheese, soft training treats, and other meats. Your trainer can help you determine what is best to use for your dog.

Families should also bring a mat or towel for their pup and a lawn chair. We will provide ice water, shade, and small wading pools for dogs to cool down on hot days.

If you’re joining us for our recall class be sure to bring a long line too!

How do class passes work? Do they expire?

Opting for a class pass gives you the flexibilty to attend classes on your schedule and save a few bucks! Passes are valid for 6 months & offer significant savings vs. paying for classes individually. We offer three class pass options:

  • Bronze | 6 Classes ($30 savings!)
  • Silver | 10 Classes ($70 savings!)
  • Gold | 20 Classes ($180 savings!)

After you purchase your class pass, use our online calendar to jump into any eligible class that fits your schedule. Your class credits stay in your Busy Paws accountso you can see exactly how many adventures you and your pup have left!

What are the intermediate class requirements?

Intermediate classes require the completion of at least one General Manners class & trainer approval before enrolling.

Current intermediate classes include Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and Cafe Companions.

What happens if there's inclement weather?

Because we are meeting outside in the park, we may need to cancel class if the weather is bad. This includes rain, snow, or an excessive heat index. Any cancelation will be communicated via text at least one hour prior to the class start time by your class instructor. If class in canceled, a credit will be automatically added to your Busy Paws client account to be used towards a future class of your choice.

Can you guarantee results?

We do not offer a traditional guarantee. Your dog is an individual, your situation is unique, and the real world contains variables outside of control and possibly even ability to predict – and all of this will impact your training. To give a guarantee would be to mislead you.

Here is what we can guarantee:

  • We will be honest and transparent with you about likely outcomes and timeframes  – and we’ll continue to be honest throughout our relationship.

  • We will deliver cutting-edge techniques based on the highest levels of current, scientifically-sound research.

  • We will use only methods that are dog-friendly, maximally positive, minimally aversive, and pain-free. We will never ask you to do anything that might damage your relationship with your best friend.

Are refunds offered?

No, by enrolling your dog you have secured your spot in class & no refunds are offered.

If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please contact our client care team at team@canine-cohesion.com to request a credit be placed on your Busy Paws account to be used towards a future class date. You must contact us to request a credit if you are unable to attend.

“Working with Desiree was a total game-changer! The work we did went beyond just commands and recall, but it really opened my eyes to see my relationship with my dog, Poe in a new way. Not only do Poe and I have a stronger bond, but I constantly get compliments from visitors as to what a good dog he is!” – Victor P.

At first, I wasn’t sure training would help. I didn’t know what to expect. But I wasn’t getting very far on my own so I decided to take the chance. And I am so glad I did! Working with you has far exceeded my expectations.” – Susan F.
