Beyond Training: Providing a Comprehensive Approach to Canine Behavioral Health

Our Story

For thousands of years dogs and humans have had the most prolific interspecies symbiotic relationship ever known. Dogs offer human beings companionship, support and safety, perform life-saving, life-enhancing tasks, as well as contribute to our overall health and well-being, to name a few things.

Sadly, for many reasons, our four-legged friends our struggling more than they ever have before. Hundreds of thousands of dogs are surrendered to shelters every year for behavioral issues. Dog bite incidents are at an all-time high. The number of dogs needing to take behavioral medication increases yearly. Unfortunately, the dog behavior industry is highly unregulated and as a consequence, dog owners are having to wade through a sea of bad or out-dated information when they seek help for their struggling pet.

Canine Cohesion Behavior & Enrichment Center was born when several leading companies joined forces to bring to life a radical new vision:

to create a place where the lifelong behavioral needs of dogs could be comprehensively met within a single ecosystem.

We would do this by knitting together an unprecedented level of expertise, all under one roof, in order to provide services based in a keen understanding of behavioral health first and foremost. Together, we’re going beyond outdated models of training based in obedience. Our unique approach incorporates specialized behavior medicine, scientifically-backed behavior modification and training, and structured socialization experiences.

At Canine Cohesion, everything we do is designed to deepen the understanding that exists between people and their dogs, and provide all dogs with an opportunity to meet their true potential, no matter where they begin – via two locations, one in Greenville, SC, and one in Asheville, NC.

Canine Cohesion is a collaboration between four leading brands:

Happy Tails

Happy Tails Country Club is a daycare and boarding business that has served the Asheville, NC area since 2006. Its managers collectively bring over 60 years’ experience in facilitating canine social skills. Happy Tails focuses on building strong dog-dog social skills, fostering appropriate play, and creating enrichment opportunities.
